35 steps, slowly worn away over the years by the feet of hundreds of choristers and canons, are slowly descended by the scarlet-robed boys and violet-robed girls of the choir.
Voices powerful enough to call
angels down from the heavens sing high below the organ; the saints in
the glass watching and listening in awe to the heavenly harmonies
through the shards of crimson, cornflower, mint and daffodil.
